Pastor Joel Lucano Baez was born in Tonala, Jalisco, 1973, and grew up in Tomatlan until the age of 18 when his parents left this world due to illnesses. He put himself through school by holding two full-time jobs weekdays and attending school on weekends. After finishing basic school, he enrolled in the private Arkos University in Puerto Vallarta, worked two full time jobs, graduated with a law degree in 2004, and started an internship in immigration law. Along the way, he self-taught English fully and conducted business in Spanish and English.
As a freelance attorney, he provides services to low-income families and small businesses in the areas of marital & family consultation, business processes, business contracts, and immigration. Most of his services are provided gratis (free-of-charge.)
In 2013, he completed his Bible studies in Puerto Vallarta, established the Iglesias Fuente de Olivos la Villas church in Puerto Vallarta (www.iglesiafuentedeolivos.com), and provides full ministerial services to a congregation of 90+, with Saturday services to 60+ people.
Joel is married to Vanessa (2004) and with their two beautiful and accomplished daughters (Regina, majoring in computer science at University of Guadalajara, and teaches private English classes; and Yeshua who attends 5th grade primary school). The family is very involved in the Puerto Vallarta community, and live here.
